Kelly Clarkson releases emotional new singles 'me' and 'mine': Listen here – ABC News

Her album will be released on June 23.
Kelly Clarkson has released two new songs from her upcoming album "Chemistry."
The award-winning singer dropped the tracks "me" and "mine" Friday, along with an emotional message about how the songs fit into her upcoming 10th studio album.
"Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling," she said in a statement. "It's like you have no choice in the matter. You are just drawn to each other. This can be good and bad."

She added, "This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down."
"Mine" centers on the breakdown of a relationship, with devastating lyrics about heartbreak and questioning if a relationship was "all a lie."
In it Clarkson sings, "I hope someday someone will take your heart and hold it tight / make you feel like you're invincible deep inside / and right when you think that it's perfect, they cross a line / and steal your shine / like you did mine."
Clarkson triumphantly declares her strength and independence in the track "me."
She sings in the chorus: "I don't need somebody to hold me / Don't need somebody to love me / Don't need somebody to pick these pieces up / I put together my broken / Let go of the pain I'vе been holdin' / Don't need to need somebody / When I got me."
Clarkson shared a statement detailing why she was putting out the emotional tracks together.
"We decided to release 'mine' and 'me' at the same time because I didn't want to release just one song to represent an entire album, or relationship," Clarkson shared in a statement. "There are many stages of grief and loss on this album. Each song is a different stage and emotional state."
The new release comes a day before Clarkson marks the 20th anniversary of her very first album, "Thankful."
"Chemistry" is out June 23, while Clarkson's Las Vegas residency begins in July.
