Canada vs. Uruguay time, TV channel, live stream, and lineups for … – Sporting News

Canada continues the buildup towards the 2022 World Cup with a Tuesday friendly against Uruguay at the National Football Stadium in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Les Rouges eased past upcoming World Cup hosts Qatar 2-0 on Friday, with a pair of early goals securing the victory. Cyle Larin and Jonathan David found the net, giving Herdman a comfortable win in his team’s first match against an opponent from outside the North American region since they began their World Cup qualifying quest in 2018.
The next match against No. 13-ranked Uruguay will provide much stiffer competition. The South American nation is expected to contend for a place in the World Cup knockout rounds from Group H, which also features Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
But Los Charruas are coming off a surprising 1-0 to Iran at the end of last week, succumbing to a 78th minute winner and unable to find an equalizer. They deployed a mostly first-choice lineup in that match, with names that included Darwin Nunez, Fede Valverde, Luis Suarez, and Rodrigo Betancur.

Uruguay is dealing with a number of injuries during this international window, including to center-backs Diego Godin and Jose Maria Gimenez. Furthermore, Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo suffered a groin injury against Iran and has departed national team camp. He is set to undergo surgery which will be followed by weeks on the sidelines, jeopardizing his World Cup availability.
Manager Diego Alonso gave another start to 20-year-old Manchester United youth player Facundo Pellistri on the right wing, and the youngster was poor, yanked at halftime of the 1-0 loss to Iran. That could hand an opportunity to Diego Rossi who could see playing time in this match.
