Heading home from this year’s United States Championship Cheese Contest®, the Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) team’s bags must have been heavy, because they were carrying six new awards. This includes three first-place honors, one second-place award, and two third-place recognitions.
“It’s always an honor to have our hard work featured among the best-of-the-best, and with nearly 2,500 entries, this year’s contest was especially competitive,” said Jill Allen, Director of Product Excellence. “At TCCA, we pride ourselves on using quality ingredients and never cutting corners, and it’s exciting for that 114-year-old commitment to be recognized at such a prestigious level.”
Almost 2,500 entries from 35 states were evaluated by a team of 42 judges at the event held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. According to a release, the products were judged based on aroma, flavor, texture, and visual presentation.

In addition to receiving these awards, the supplier also celebrated Allen serving her 10th year as a contest judge and Senior Produce Development Scientist Anna Ku joining as a first-time judge.
